An absolute jewel of a store. Am I a little biased? Sure... Brian's one of my best friends and his wife Rachael owns it right alongside him. But these two poured their heart and soul into this place, and it shows the second you walk in. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the curation floored me for a shop this size. I grabbed a Firesteed Pinot Noir from Oregon for my wife, a bottle of premium Junmai sake from Japan (SOTO) for myself, and some Olympia Provisions pork rillettes I'm about to dig into. Then I pulled up a chair and had a couple of Lone Stars with Brian while I visited. Where else are you finding an Oregon Pinot, a Japanese sake, and Portland charcuterie under one roof in small-town Texas? The wine and beer section is genuinely fun to browse, and the building itself has a great story... ask them about it, and about the front desk, next time you're in. You'll be glad you did. If you're anywhere near Smithville, go live it up. Five stars all the way.
